Robert R. Rico has always lived by that motto. As a former police officer who has been involved in representing hundreds of clients in administrative and criminal trials, he has seen firsthand how important it is to obtain legal representation IMMEDIATELY and not provide a statement without first consulting an attorney. Robert's unique background in law enforcement, his legal representation of public employees (including police, deputies, CHP, and fire), combined with his experience in criminal court trials, provide you, the client, with the confidence you want and need.

Robert has been practicing law since 1999 and a sole practitioner since 2000. He has been involved in several high profile cases including the LAPD Rampart Scandal, the Rihanna photo leak, and the Christopher Dorner matter. He has been featured on local television stations such as KTLA-5, KCBS-2/9, KABC-7, and KMEX-34 (Spanish), and has been quoted in People Magazine, the New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times, among others.

Robert graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University at Los Angeles in 1993, and Cum Laude from The Whittier Law School in 1998. At Whittier Law, he served as an Executive Editor of the Whittier Law Review and also as a member of the Trial Advocacy Honors Board. Robert is a published author, having published his article, Research Guide to Pregnancy-Based Sex Discrimination in the College of William & Mary Journal of Women and the Law.

Robert is a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar, United States Court of Appeals-9th Circuit, the United States District Court for the Central and Southern Districts, and the California State Bar. He is also a member of the American Bar Association (ABA); Los Angeles County Bar (LACBA); California Police Officers Association (CPOA); California Public Defenders Association (CPDA); California Attorneys for Criminal Justice (CACJ); Mexican-American Bar Association (MABA), the LA County Indigent Criminal Defense Appointments (ICDA), the LACBA Veterans Pro Bono Project, and is also a certified mediator and fee arbitrator.
